It has been a banner year in our laboratory which has led to new and exciting research initiatives. The results of these studies will have consequences both for patient care and for scientific inquiry into how the brain works. We are pleased to report that one of our discoveries made headlines this year. We found that the magnetic field associated with having an MRI scan causes everyone who lies in an MRI scanner to develop nystagmus, without even having pictures taken! [
